Students were treated to a performance by the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company called 'Kaarla Kaatijin' (understand fire) where students had a chance to learn about traditional Noongar stories, their origin and meaning. All of the tales were told about Kaarla - fire - and we learned so many names for Australian animals in Noongar language: Djitty Djitty (Willy Wagtail), Kulbardi (Magpie) and so many more.
